Political science at Ivy League

I'd love to do a politics-related degree at one of the Ivy League unis. Harvard will definitely be my top choice, but I feel like I stand no chance of getting in.

I'm British and my grades are definitely in the top 10% of the class, I've been a prefect, won some debating prizes and MUN awards, I've done two great internships last year and now I'm in the process of doing some edX courses. However, this summer I cannot attend any summer schools, because of financial reasons.
I got accepted into a couple in the UK and the US, but I simply cannot afford them and none of them do scholarships.
I feel like this completely erases my chances of being accepted and I don't know if there is any point in doing SATs at all, because aside from Ivy League there aren't any US universities that I want to go to.

Be HONEST, do you think I stand a chance? And what are you basing your opinion on?

I'll be very grateful for a reply.
Cheers,
Alex

There are plenty of things application worthy to do during the summer…:
Training for a sport
Teaching yourself something new
Getting a job
Volunteering

You don’t need any fancy summer programs to be accepted dont worry! although they’re reaches I think you still stand a chance. Good luck. Can you answe mine? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1530373-these-extracurriculars.html

You could look into Georgetown University if you don’t think you can get into an Ivy. It’s a little easier to get into and the political science program is one of the best in the country.
