So pretty much every school has a Political Science Dept. Can I count on the professors and resources of the PoliSci Dept at SMC to be good enough to dedicate 4 years to?

If anyone majors in it I'd really appreciate an inside perspective.

Hello DJQ1717–

Not only are the professors in the Political Science program quite strong ([PoliSci Faculty](http://www.smcvt.edu/academics/politicalscience/faculty.asp)) but the experiential learning component of the program is also quite deep.

Politics in Vermont are very accessible and students have excellent opportunities for internships both at the local and the state level while they are students at St. Mike’s.

Students can also take advantage of internships at the federal level. Senator Patrick Leahy is a graduate of Saint Michael’s College and serves as the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Caroline Bright would be an excellent student to ask about our PoliSci program. She is currently a senior PoliSci major (and also happens to be Miss Vermont!). She has a fantastic blog as well as a great FormSpring account (on the left side of her blog) where you can ask her any question (anonymously or not) that you’d like: [Caroline Bright’s Blog](http://www.carolinebright.net/)!

I would encourage you to contact one of the professors of the PoliSci dept if you would like more specific information.

Hope this was of help!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Brown
