Political Science vs. Economics.... difficult?

Can someone who's taken several Poli Sci or several Econ classes tell me how difficult these routes are at Stanford? How much are both in terms of workload?

I know both are very large and popular majors... so Is Poli Sci competitive with probably the large amount of Pre-law students? Is Econ competitive, such as difficult to get a good grade, with the pre-biz people?

(Please don't accuse me of being a gradewhore, but I am just curious and want some inside info). Thanks.

It really depends if you are more qualitative or quantitative. Are you good at calculus? Econ is much more math heavy.

I'm not bad at math. On the other hand, would I have to be a really good writer to excel at poli sci papers? I've heard that poli sci, though it requires writing, does that require an extreme amount of writing, let's say, compared to an english or history major. Is this true?

remember that all majors have a "writing in the major requirement" so you will have to take at least two writing classes in econ too, though prob not as much as polysci.

You won't really write any papers in econ outside of the WIM class.

And there is only one WIM class per major, not two.

"All undergraduates must satisfy the first level Writing and Rhetoric requirement (WR 1) in one of three ways:"

"All undergraduates must satisfy the second-level Writing and Rhetoric requirement (WR 2) in one of three ways: "

It seems like two classses to me, but as a current student you would know better

Those classes aren't in the major they are PWR classes. you only have to take the one class in you major.
