Politics & Values and Civics House

Are these special programs for freshman worth living on the Mount Vernon Campus? I got invited to apply for the Politics and Values program, and I heard the professor is really good-but they are getting a new professor for next year, so it doesn't matter any more. The Civics House program also seemed interesting.
The only concern I have is living on the Vern. It seems extremely isolated and quiet, and according to previous posts, the people there are "weird".
Are there any upperclassmen who have taken these seminars and would advise others to take them, or have any general suggestions about programs like these?

I wouldn’t do it, mostly because im not doing it, but also because you lose the advantages of the foggy bottom campus, which is probably the best thing about GW
