It's the amount of AP classes that my school offers. Actually, my school "offers" AP Chemistry and AP Biology, but I believe that it's either or, based on the amount of enrollment in each course (from what I recall, it's mostly be Chem the past two years; not too much interest in Bio supposedly). But if we include self-study (not classes), I'll definitely have more than 8.

i came to the US last year my junior year]] what? you barely come to the U.S. then how do you know enough English to study those AP classes? Unless you come from somewhere in Europe then that is possible.
For me, probably 6. Started taking them this year, junior year.
By the way I 'm curious what grade do you usually get for all your AP classes? It would be crazy if anyone manage to get straight As while taking 6-7 AP classes at the same time.

ok i wasn't bragging or anything. i'm from korea and didn't go to a international school. But i lived in the US when i was in elementary school and the rest in public korean schools. I won't be afraid to admit it that junior year was pretty much hell. Calc and chem i could take but USH was extremely difficult. But through it and journalism my english has grown a lot. The results i'll tell u if ur curious but i've learned a lot and feel that taking a lot of APs r really worth it.

9th: no honors, wasnt offered to anyone
10th: Honors American Literature (the only honors class offered)
11th: Honors French IV(year ahead of everyone in my grade since they take it this year), AP Brit Lit, Honors Beginning Programming in Java
12th: AP World Literature, Honors Advanced Biology, Honors Intermediate Programming in Java, Honors Psychology/Sociology, Honors Government/Economics, Honors Calculus.

So 8 honors and 2 AP. Funny thing is, all the honors courses could be considered AP because we use books that help you prepare for the AP, but they course is called honors...

I'm a junior and will probably have 8 or 9 APs by graduation. I'll have nine if my school has AP French next year-depends on how many what to take it.

I came to the US a year ago and now I'm taking 5 APs
ap cal, ap ush, ap es, ap chem, ap stat
ap ush is definitely hard for esl learners, especially that in my school, no point is given to homework assignments. The grade is only based on tests, final, DBQ, and free-response.
