Poll: New Standard of Perfection- 2250 or 2300?

Schools don't simply add up all your scores and put them in a blender. Admissions officers have a great deal of experience in evaluating their classes based on M and V scores. Many schools are taking a go slow approach with the Writing score (because of equating, the new Math and CR scores are equivalent to the old scores). Even schools that are requiring the New SAT are often doing so only for research purposes in the initial year(s). They don't want to make admission decisions until they know what the Writing score really means to their applicant pool and admits.

Slipstream99 is basically right that it's not just a proportion. Schools will look at the relative percentiles (in some cases as composites and in other cases in the 3 individual scores). There simply is no magic number. Well, 2400 is pretty magic, but even that is no guarantee of acceptance.

I'm pretty sure the standard of perfection is a 2400.
