Which laptop is the best in terms of price to power ratio?

None of these. A Retina Macbook Pro is light enough to be portable but has a great screen and above average battery life (I get 9-10 hours). Yes, the Air is lighter and gets 13 hours, but the screen is pretty bad. To me that is a big deal, so I went with the Pro. I’d wait until they improve the screen or just get a rMBP.

Also, this should go on College Computers!

Oh sorry, I’ll post one in that section

The screen is not bad on a MacBook Air. The Retina screen is better, but I have a pre-Retina MacBook Pro and the screen is by no means bad. It’s actually very good - better than the screens on most other computers IMO.

Still, though, for undergrad I would probably get a Retina MacBook Pro. It’s only 3.46 lbs.; I think the 13" Air is only one pound lighter. You do get the 9-10 hours of life (and Apple’s life estimates are very good. My 2012 MacBook Pro gets 5-7 hours of life depending on what I’m doing with it, and that’s how much the estimate was).
