I was rejected to Pomona today
It’s okay, because I still have Wellesley, Amherst, and Williams to choose from so far, and that’s almost hard enough. Pomona is such a great school, though. Congratulations to all who were/will be accepted! Great job!

How did you hear about Amherst? Did you get a likely?

It’s not definite, and for your sake I hope not, but it is a definite possibility.

USPS sucks. My mail still isn’t here.

Edit: Just showed up, and nothing. Guess I have to wait 'til Monday to know for sure.

I haven’t heard anything yet, but even if I do get in, i think i’d still go to Amherst over Pomona. @Angier: I, and I’d assume neonthursday, got early writes to Amherst earlier this month. They’re different from likely letters in that they are actual acceptances.

What about people who live in your area getting accepted while you haven’t gotten anything?

^Not sure. THat would indicate that the decisions are sent out in waves.

When I first heard of other Seattle kids getting accepted, I was nervous, being only 20 minutes away. But my friend told me that her friend (a swim recruit) had already been contacted by the Pomona swim coach to be accepted RD. He lives in my area and hasn’t gotten anything. I haven’t heard anything about waves or sending them out all at once so I hope you’re right jr5570 :]

I was invited to the Open House yesterday under the diversity program.

Ugh. I live in Idaho and haven’t gotten anything, but people in the midwest and east coast have. Hopefully this is a sign of being in a predominantly rural state and not a sign of rejection.

Also in Seattle and D hasn’t heard…

Waitlisted.

I already got in to UChicago, Williams, and Columbia though, so I’m not too bummed. Would’ve been nice to have an option close to home though.

I’m in the Seattle-area and I got accepted Is anyone going to “The Weekend”?

@ FrenchSilkPie: There’s a “Weekend” thing? O_o I might go, since Pomona’s about 30 min- hour away for me o:

Yeah, but it’s for low income/diverse/URMs I think. It’s April 8-11 and another one April 15-18 I believe. I really hope I can figure out a way to pay for a visit down to campus! You are lucky to live so close!

I know mail gets screwed up by the USPS a lot and arrives at different times, but I think Seattle area folks like myself are looking at a pretty bleak scenario right here.

^^I’m not any of those things and my acceptance letter talked about both of those weekends, so I think they’re for anyone. They probably just have a special program on those weekends for low income/diverse/URMs.

rejected, should have demonstrated more interest by asking for an interview. I guess they really count!

She got her letter today (Saturday) arrived in Arizona. Big white envelope!

Accepted: MIT (EA), Williams (EW), USC (1/2 tuition offer), Pomona

Waiting: Oberlin, Wellesley, Yale, Stanford

She is thrilled!

Yeah nothing in Seattle and someone at my school got accepted. Hope it’s not a rejection.

Woo accepted…
Now just the big wave of expected rejection on the 30th! >.>
