Has anyone received confirmation emails yet after submitting their apps? I submitted my common app and supplement 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear anything from them.

I just got an email from commonapp, not from pomona. Don’t worry, they have a lot of apps on their hands.

I called the admissions office, and they have not yet started sending out confirmation emails.

Spoke to Cathy at admissions and she stated that there is a backlog. She assured me that the Common Applications have been received. You should start seeing confirmation of your application next week.

I just got a mail confirmation from the Music department that they have received my music supplement. In the letter they said that they were delighted to hear of my decision to apply for early admission to Pomona College. So I guess they received my app :)

That’s awesome! Best of luck to you all :)

Does anyone else receive e-mail confirmation?

I got an email confirmation.
I thought it was weird though because the email I got was titled: “Pomona College: Early Decision 1 - Missing Items” as if I was missing some stuff, even though in the actual email they said “we have now received the documents required to review your application to Pomona.”

Anyone else get the same missing items title even though they turned in everything?

Yeah I got the same email randythenoob. I was scared at first when I saw the title but then I was relieved

On the Pomona website it says:
In addition, students who provide an e-mail address will receive a user ID and password to access their application materials checklist online after the vast majority of documents have been processed by the admissions staff.

I haven’t received the user ID and password; has anyone gotten them yet?

Also, does anyone know how we check the status of our admission and at what time on December 15?

I haven’t gotten my user ID yet.
But in past threads people have said they let you know the status of your admission by mail, and the letters can sometimes come before the 15th if you live on the west coast. I don’t know if that’s still true this year though.

Oh yeah, i just found out today that the letters come in the mail. Are they sent out a few days before the 15th? Also, if we’re supposed to be notified by the 15th at the latest, wouldn’t it actually be the 14th since the 15th is a Sunday and mail doesn’t come then?

Postmark dates from past years:
2012: 12/10
2011: 12/12
2010: 12/10
2009: 12/09

Guys I am so nervous you dont even know…

I know!!! It’s so stressful that it comes in the mail… I really hope it comes before the 15th.

I feel like Pomona is the only college that still mails! Haha we’ll be able to tell whether we got accepted just by looking at the thickness of the envelope…

Pomona is definitely not the only college keeping the USPS in business. Unless they decide to throw a curve this year, a big priority-mail size envelope is an acceptance; a regular envelope means that you are among the vast majority who apply to Pomona - and end up having wonderful college experiences elsewhere.

Thanks for that. I definitely need to get mentally prepared for a rejection…Im hoping for the best of course, but still
I was saying that it seems as if Pomona is one of the few colleges that dont have some sort of online portal for applicants to check their status. (Just seems like it from conversations with my peers…Im definitely no expert on this.)

Oh my goodness, I’m so nervous. An online portal would be nice… I really hope to hear back before this weekend, although it may be really unlikely since I live in the midwest.

Good luck everyone!
