Work on the interview for Pomona and Scripps. At D’s high school they were suprized by Scripps WL of candidates who did very well at other schools.

Good Luck, you seem to have a reasonable assesssment of your chances!

Stanford Early Action - Naturally a reach for everyone, but if what you say about your school (60% into Berk) you should have an ok chance at getting in.
Pomona College (ED 2) - Good luck, but I tend to agree Pomona doesn’t really look as hard into stats as it does into it.
UC Davis - In
UC Berkeley- Good chance (you lucky in-state ■■■■■■■!)
UCLA- 75% chance
UCSD- In
Scripps - IMHO I really don’t know but Seems to be similar in Pomona in admissions.
Claremont McKenna- Okay chance.
USC- 75%

Out of State Colleges:
Swarthmore - 70/30
UPenn-50/50 - giving you benefit of doubt on your school status.
Georgetown - 75%
WUSTL - 50/50
NU - 50/50
Princeton - Reach/Crapshoot/Whatever, plenty of well-qualified applicants get rejected every year.
Columbia - Same as Princeton but a bigger chance IMO.
Good luck in your apps; remember hard work>name of college.

As the father of a (very happy) Pomona junior, I agree with nostalgicwisdom:

You’re definitely a super candidate for the school. Just make sure to let your personality shine through in your essays and plan a campus visit if you can. Good luck!

Assuming you are in the top say 5% of ur school even though it doesnt rank (mine doesnt either but they release it to colleges if they ask), id say you are in all UC’s, USC and have good shot at NWestern and WU and all others are reaches. However, you probably have a better shot than most at those reach schools considering your stats so GL

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1393435-chance-senior-usc-jhu-more.html

do you think its valuable to put my job at a grocery store as work experience…i started in junior yr but i think its becoming a waste of time…

something tells me they won’t like me filling up my schedule with mundane work…

It cant hurt it shows that you are capable of excellence while having great time management and work experience

From what I have heard, colleges DO count freshman year. They count all 4 years of HS, even if 9th grade is held in a Jr High building, as it is in our city. However, it is better to have the B’s in 9th gr than in 12th–they like to see that “upward trend”!!
