I've heard kids talk about 'playing pong.' What on earth is that??

ping pong?

In a dorm room??

pong is one of the the first video games.

Ooooh. Thanks. I was clueless! I thought it had something to do with drugs! :o

I was thinking that, too, as it's reminiscent of "bong"..LOL

There are also drinking games with "pong" in the title. See http://www.barmeister.com/cgi-bin/game.sort.pl?type=Ping-Pong.

It's a drinking game

Beer pong is a popular game mostly at frats .

Oh, I heard of pong years ago from daughters and sons of college students. In fact a young man I know pretty well who is about 28 claims that his frat at Lehigh invented it. The gross part is that you drink beer from the cups that the ping pong ball bounces into and this could be after the ball has bounced on the floor. No, I have never played it.

Ahh - similar to "quarters".

I remember beer pong when I went to college years ago.

LOL which kids still play the Pong video game?

Its all Beer Pong now a days

Nope...pong was invented at Dartmouth. Dartmouth also happens to be just about the only school that still plays it the right way - with paddles. Everyone else just has the two teams take turns throwing the ball at each other's cups. Anyway, pong is fun, and concerning the gross ball the alcohol disinfects whatever crap is potentially on the ball.

I don't know where beer pong was invented but I do know it was around in 1978.
