ponytails vs. messy buns vs. hair down

Gah, this topic sounds so superficial. :( Don't feel this way, please.

Because if you think about it, ponytails are classic, convenient, and clear your forehead. They're also great for sports, wind, and bending down, in which case you don't have to constantly brush back long hair and seem vain lol.

Messy buns flatter your neck, shoulders, jawline, and forehead, but are actually kind of annoying. They're supposed to be "messy", but getting it right/non-completely-idiotic/chicken-nest-looking takes more than a minute.

And finally, hair down is really simple, but takes a lot more time and care in making the sheet of hair look good. It's also not very convenient.

As for short hair, I'm sure it would be one of the best options convenience-wise. It's just too bad most of us lack the essential perfect bone structure for that lol.

Thoughts? :)

On girls they all work = p. You just have to be able to pull it off. It’s like when guys try stuff with facial hair. It has potential to work, but not every guy can pull it off. Different girls look good with different hairdoes. Opinion from a guy. Take with a grain of salt, or whatever the saying is = D.

It’s just hair.
They’re all good.
Wear it how you like, bone structure be damned.

My hair is down to my waist and very thick. I wear it down most of the time. I put it up in a pony tail if it needs to go out of my face.

To put it up in a bun is a HUGE pain in the arse.

I’m growing out short hair right now and can already put it in a messy bun. I think it looks better than a ponytail- I mastered the art of doing it a few years ago, before I cut my hair, so it doesn’t really take me that long. I don’t see any cons for messy buns :D

Braids! Most people I meet hate them but they’re the most convenient. I love to put my hair (well my mom does it for me actually) in two braids but some schools in India require girls to put their hair in two plaits and then tie the bottom of the braid to the top in a

Messy buns normally look better on girls with wavy hair, and I have pin straight hair, so it doesn’t look that great on me ( maybe i’m doing it wrong?). I find the most convenient thing is either ponytail or put a clip or headband on. It always distracts people from your messy hair.

I’m cutting my hair shortly for Wigs 4 Kids.

I am afraid of having short hair again. I might actually have to do something with it! The horror.

If my hair was long enough, I would say messy bun. I’m growing it out, but still confines to clips and headbands =[

OHHHH!!^ I wanted to do that too!! But for locks of love, they need a minimum of 10 -12 inches, which would make me bald… so I’m going to wait a little longer.

^ Don’t do Locks of Love.

Most of their hair goes to people who buy it rather than kids.

I donate my hair every 2 years. It’s routine at this point lol.

I think girls look best with their hair down

I try to avoid ponytails as much as possible, unless I am doing something athletic.

The messy bun’s alright, but I only do it on bad hair days.

I usually wear my hair down.

I typically wear my hair down as well.

Seriously?? I didn’t know that!! I guess I’ll do wigs 4 kids then! Wow your hair must be extremely healthy to do it every 2 years!! I always start getting split or dry ends, so I have to trim veryyyyyyy often. I never seem to be able to grow my hair out. Any tips?

Sorry, not really lol.

I’m just blessed with good hair. I get it trimmed about once a year and then chopped off every 2.5 years (10-12 inches, depending). Don’t color it! Don’t blow dry it! Don’t curl it!

Seriously do nothing to your hair. Blow drying, curling, straightening, etc are the worst things you can do!

What about oiling? My family swear it’s the best thing for hair but I am unsure.

Oiling? What is oiling?

My friend did wigs for kids once, but now she keeps it at one set length. She started the Wiki article about it and I heavily edited it. so I always remember.

Some of us aren’t so privileged. I cannot have any style remotely similar to the one I prefer without chemically altering the texture of my hair or pressing it on a near daily basis. Nor can millions of other women. In addition to that, no matter what I do with my hair, it’s political.

^ They asked what to do to get long hair. That is what you do…

Why does one need to do anything to their hair? I’m seriously asking because I don’t get it. Hair is hair- why do you need to change it?

Oh- another tip- use natural shampoo and condition if you can. Chemicals strip your hair of necessary nutrients.
