I am staying at Bowles for my dorm room, and I am basically wondering if anyone knows whether their is a pool table or not. I love billiards and i think that would be a good opportunity to get better. Thanks for your help.

smallz, you are my new best friend. Im dorming at Bowles and have been playing for a few years now. I hear the units have some pool tables in the rec rooms, but yea I hope Bowles has one close by.

There is one in the Foothill Recreation Room.

helllooooo foothill

but don't expect to find any quality pool tables - they're all really old and tattered. I played at the foothill one a few times and from I could tell, I don't think it was leveled.

You can always make friends with people living in Units.. haha. Each building in Units (at least, Units 1 and 2, not sure about Unit 3) has a main lounge on the floor level with pool table, foosball table, big screen TV, and some even have a piano or two.

Oh wow, I actually have ONE reason to look forward to living at Bowles now.

Don't worry, I can offer my help to the best of my ability to repair the Pool Table if needed.

Damn its gonna be tough to restrain myself, if I start playing...wow good bye berkeley

bowles has one or two pool tables on the first floor open rec room (left one) along with several (rather old) brown leather couches, tables, a chalkboard, and a TV.

the right side open room has pretty much the same things minus the pool table, tv, but does have a piano.

Bowles has one pool table in the recreational room. You can only use the equipment when the security monitor is in, so that means you must play between the hours of 10pm-3am. If you are looking to play outside of those hours, or like some flexibility, bring your own equipment (the added bonus is that you'll make a lot of new friends). Also in the Bowles primary rec room is a ping pong table, a large television (that hosted a series of unsuccessful "movie night" gatherings), a table surrounded by leather couches (in decent condition), a table that a group of Bowlesmen used as a poker table every Wednesdays, a smallish television some of the more introverted residents used to play video game tournaments and, of course, TRADITION (it's actually everywhere in the building, just have to mention it again, OF COURSE!). There is relative traffic in the rec room at nights, but always more than a few friendly faces ready to offer a match.

Have fun playing pool,
TTG

NOTE: I hope the situation will be remedied, but the equipment in the security monitor's office includes the triangle, an incomplete but workable set of balls, and roughly 10 sticks in which all but one are unusable (the tips have all been demolished).

ill bring my equip no problem, but bring your own cues...theres nothing worse than warped house cues. nasty.

if worst comes to absolute worst, there is a bowling alley on san pablo thats just a 10 minute drive from campus.. (Albany Bowl is the name)

not sure if they are still in business, but Thallasa is on Shattuck Ave.
