Pop Up Spam

@CCadmin_Sorin, spam is back today. :frowning: I don’t know how to take a screen shot. IPhone 6.

@intparent, try pressing the on/off button on the top right of the phone at the same time as you press the button in the bottom center of the front (the one just below the screen). That should take a photo that’s stored wherever you keep your pictures.

Yup, it did work. Now if I can just remember when the time comes…

I just got spam. I "qualified " for a 1000$ (note the European spelling) Amazon gift card

I got the same one, @apraxiamom

Thanks for reporting, guys! I’ve opened a ticket with the tech team. I’ll update you as soon as we have news.

Guys, can someone take a screenshot of the spam pop up and email it to me at admin@collegeconfidential.com? This would be very helpful in tracking it down. Thanks!

So glad I’m not the only one getting this. Mine’s also Amazon.

And thanks @austinmshauri for the screenshot tip!

I know this doesn’t belong here but anyone else having a single paragraph break post as two?

Same here. “Amazon” would like me to know that I’ve won a $1,000 gift certificate.

Sorry didn’t grab a screen shot. Will next time.

Thanks, guys! Can you also take a screenshot when you see the pop up?

I’m getting the pop ups saying I was chosen for an amazon gift card. I have to reboot my phone too

Sent a screenshot just now

I also had multiple pop ups for a week after clicking on a commenters link. I had to clear all advertising and safari history, Shut down and restart the iPad, so far In the last week I am no longer seeing pop ups.

I was getting the pop up spam that I won too on iphone6. I totally shut down phone and restarted. Sorry, didn’t take screen shot. Will take screenshot if it reappears.

I got spammed clicking on this CC spam thread. The Amazon gift certificate. Hopefully, someone will grab a screen shot. iPhone user.

I’ve been getting Amazon gift card last two days. I’m on iPad.

The pop up spam “winner” has not reoccurred since thus morning when I shut my iPhone 6 all the way off and then turned it back on.

The Amazon spam pop up is back. It shows up after logging in and doesn’t when not logged in. The site has been phished or whatever is the correct terminology for advertising hack.

Yeah, most tech sites way it’s adware. And they point to some chink in the host site’s armor.
