"It has come to our attention that the Pomona College Office of Information Technology Services is currently experiencing technical problems with the applicant portal. Please note that this problem does not affect all applicants. However, as a result, all applicant passwords have been deactivated and you will no longer have access to the portal.

Please note that the automated system for checking admissions documents is no longer available. At this time, we are in the concluding stages of our evaluation and have sealed admissions files for final review. Additionally, all admissions decisions are sent to candidates by mail; decisions are not posted online.

We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this lengthy process."

All applicants received it – it’s not like access to the portal site was removed for only a select number of applicants. I’m curious as to whether it has anything to do with the “In at Pomona” tab some people found on their MyPomona page though.

Have they mailed the decisions yet? How long does it take for international student living overseas to receive the decision? OMG, my anxiety is killing me now.

I did not have the extra tab and cannot log in. The e-mail said not all had problems with the portal. Who know what all of ths means? I am trying not to read too much into it but it’s difficult not to. I hope Pomona is able to meet the 4/1 estimate as waiting beyond that will be very hard.

^The email also said that all passwords were being deactivated, yet I can still login.

It could be nothing. It sounds suspiciously like they accidentally put some stuff up too early and this is a coverup. For my sake, I hope the latter; for yours, the former.

^ tend to agree. Sounds like they realized they had tipped off the denials by deleting their accounts early and did some damage control. When I called they just said the account was dead, nothing about IT issues. Hopefully this is wrong, Pomona seems above these types of games

Yes, it’s really shocking how IT can goof and leak information that may or may not be final. I assume some of you also applied to Cal and experienced a similar debacle earlier this week when applicant names began appearing in the CalNet directory with Cal ID numbers leading to likely accurate speculation that these people were the admits.

I feel like from the email noone should be able to… but, I have no idea because I can’t seem to remember my password and it won’t let me reset it !

yeah, same for me!! Even tho now I can’t remember my password haha! Or maybe it’s that I can’t sign in! Good luck to all… hopefully this is good for us peach!

I can still use my account. Normally, when I click on the Finances tab, it redirected me to the homepage. Today, however, when I clicked on Finances it redirected me to a page with this message:

"Finances
Parent forgot password

If you have forgotten your password, please enter your username (ID) (e.g., 19999999) below. An email containing your temporary password will be sent to the email address on record. "

Probably reading into this too much. Eh.

EDIT: On second notice, it doesn’t actually log me in anymore (it did last night). The first time I logged in I entered the wrong password, and it told me so. When I log in with the correct password it simply sends me back to the homepage without logging in. No clue what’s going on.
