Who else is officially in Porter? I know I am.

I am.
I need to send in my room preferences and everything still.
Coed. Double. I just dont know what theme.

I am.

there is no theme if its coed. that just means like, all female or substance free or outdoors lover...righht? you dont need to choose one right?

^ Correct. Coed = default

I'm in, and I put the film floor as my highest preference. Looking forward to it.

Yeah this is going to be awesome! When it gets closer all Porter college confidential people should plan where to like meet up in september.

i think you can choose which co-ed themed hall you want... "visual arts, outdoor experience, performing arts, gender studies and film and digital media."
i chose visual arts.

yahh. i dont really fit into any of those themes so i didnt choose one.

ya i know how you feel.
they really need a music one!

does anyone know if you can have a bunk with a desk underneath it in a double? can you even loft your beds in a double?
i think i might apply for a triple or a quad because i really want a bunk bed with a desk underneath it. haha.

okay just make sure your not going to be uncomfortable with that situation.
i thought id like lofts but they actually are really scary to sleep in, especially with such low ceilings.

no i dont think you can do double with lofts.

Actually I am pretty sure you can loft your beds in doubles. All rooms single through quad have the same beds and can stack on the desk as far as I remember. Each roommate gets his own bed, desk, and dresser/closet and you and your roommate can decide how to arrange the room.

What are your majors going to be? Mine is the computer game design one.

I wrote an email to housing just to make sure.....

Q: It is my priority to have a desk with a bunk bed over it. Do all triples and quads have this feature?
Is it possible to loft a bed in a double high enough to fit a desk under it?

A: At Porter College, the quads and triples both offer lofted beds. However the double rooms do not.

I dont know if he meant you cant loft your bed at all in a double or if you can loft it high enough to fit a desk under it but either way a double isnt for me

Im in and I think I chose the visual arts theme.

my major is environmental scence and hopefully with an emphasis in sustainable foods. yahh hippie.

do you think the triples hav enough room in them??

I lived in Porter dorms for 2 years and the apartments for a 3rd. Not all rooms have the same furniture. In fact, Porter has quite a jumble of mismatched beds/dressers/desks. There's no guarantee that you'll have a loftable bed, unless you're in a triple or quad.

Is the Koi pond I saw when I visited apart of Porter? If so, do the fish have names :P

yup, the koi pond is definitely Porter. I'm pretty sure the koi are named - the activities office would be the best place to ask.

NOOOOOOO! O well that's cool. Now I just have to find out the names.
