What did you guys submit for your portfolios (if one was required)? How important do you think they'll be to the decision process?

I submitted the five page script option, but those five pages, when formatted, were so short that I don't know how they can evaluate any potential... So, I was just wondering what you all did. :)

what was your portfolio for?
i had my portfolio review in november for theatre tech...i dont know what options you're talkin bout, but i can definately tell you what i showed them if you want...

I just meant the option for the program you applied to. I applied for the Dramatic Writing one (my 2nd choice was Film) and I could only send a maximum of a five page script. So it seemed pretty pointless, since those five pages were like a teaser to the main plot.

What was your review like?

for my portfolio review i physically had to goto Emerson and talk 3 people in the theatre tech department through my portfolio. My portfolio has pictures of shows, paperwork, organization stuff, lighting plots...etc, etc.

i'm sending in part of a broadcast i did for a summer journalism camp, i'm applying for film as my first choice major and broadcasting as my second.

I applied for Writ, lit, and pub, and so didn't need a portfolio, but sent some work anyways. I submitted some writing, but a lot less than i wanted to. I was a little rushed that day (no idea why i didn't put more thought into that... i have a whole friggen forty page portfolio for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and for some god-unknown reason, i was stil hurried with submission...temporary insanity, most likely) and so only sent in like, one prose-poem and some scanned articles i've written...
I included the URL to my website that contains my work...do you think they'll even look at it?
