I would like to transfer to the University of Michigan but I have one problem. I was supposed to attend American University (but I didn’t) and since it’s a test optional school I only took my SAT once and did SO bad (because I fell asleep in the exam) I never submitted my scores. However, in order to transfer to University of Michigan it says I need to submit my scores. I will be transferring as a junior and I currently have a 4.0 (weighted and un-weighted). I work at a prestigious international law firm and I am in Phi Theta Kappa, The National Honor Society, and I also do additional volunteer work when I can. I hope I’m a strong candidate but I feel if they were to see my scores they would for sure deny me… If I were to check off on my common app that I never took the SAT would University of Michigan ever know? I’m scared help lol.
Just take the SAT again (don’t fall asleep) and send in new scores when you apply to UMich. You’ve only got a couple testing dates I imagine before their app is due though, so get moving.
Also, it could be considered dishonesty if you checked off that you never took the SAT when you actually did, and you could get a possible acceptance rescinded.
yes but i took the SAT 2 years ago and on their website it saids you shouldn’t really re take it again in college if you already took it and how would they know if i took it and lied aren’t my scores confidential?
I would email an admissions officer asking if they will accept scores for sittings taken during college.
OR, you could send your old scores. Depending on what year you are transferring as (sophomore or junior) will determine how much weight your SAT score carries. If you’re transferring as a junior, I would send in your old scores as they don’t matter as much as your college work (which you have done really well in). If you are a sophomore, I would ask to retake it.
