Possible 2nd Major Choices?

Yo!

I'm an English Literature major and as of this moment I plan to go to Law School once I get my degree. What I want to ask you guys is whats a good/interesting major to compliment English? I'd appreciate if you could give me a major that could help me prepare for Law School AND another that would just offer me more career options if in a few years I decide not to do Law.

Extra Info- I have no problem with majors that might require me to go to a graduate school like Psychology. I'd prefer if the major didn't require me to do too much math.

Thanks in advance

Philosophy? I would probably go with psychology personally.

English and Rhetoric Studies seem to go hand in hand.

According to my high school law teacher (whose daughter is also a lawyer), law schools really like people with philosophy majors, because they “spend most of their time arguing” (her words, not mine), and are therefore really good at arguing cases before a judge. English and philosophy also seem to go well together.

So both Philosophy and Psychology could be used to prepare me for a law degree.

Would they be could on there own if I didn’t do law?

And what about Economics?

Philosophy, econ, political science, history and even business are good majors for future law school applicants.

Thanks. Now what I need to know is will any of those majors be able to stand on their own? If I decide not to do Law can I make a career/living from Econ. or Psycology or the others?

If you want a stand-alone major with economics, choose applied economics. As the name suggests, it’s more applications as opposed to theory, therefore, you can put what you learn to work right when you graduate.
