Hey everyone! I don't really have a specific and legitimate question to ask of you. I would just like to hear your opinions. As many of you already know, I'm currently a freshman at the University of Michigan, and so far, I love it here. Lately, I've been thinking about possible concentrations for my studies and am now seriously sonsidering a major in history and a minor in Spanish. I just think that I'd really enjoy learning a lot about ancient history and focusing my studies around it. Also, I (accidently) found that I really enjoy learning the Spanish language while working on the normal language requirement for LSA (my college in the university). Once that full requirement is finally fulfilled, I'd hate to stop taking language courses, which is why I'm seriously considering it as a minor. :) Now for your opinions... Does the history/Spanish combination make sense to all of you? Could I do something with it in the end? Thanks in advance!

Any combination makes sense if it is what you enjoy studying! There is nothing wrong with having a fallback competence in a modern language.

I don't know a career for combining ancient history and Spanish, however. How ancient are you interested in? Perhaps a switch to Latin (Spanish being a Romance language, this won't be hard).
