Title says it all. My counselor won't do anything college-related once school gets out for break this Friday, and I'm not completely finished with my Common App or all of my supplements. Is it possible to send ahead the transcripts and recs first, since that has to be done through the counseling office (at least for my school it does), and then finish my Common and supplements over the break to send then? (Before Jan 1 for those deadlines obviously).

Thanks for any help!

Yes, your counselor can send it in before you submit, but some schools don’t send in until you yourself have reached certain checkpoints (application submitted, for example). You will have to work that out with your school counselor. You are partners in this process, they are not your servant, so make sure you give them ample time to do what you need.

Thanks for the reply Snowflake! I have a question though; what do you mean by “some schools don’t send in until you yourself have reached certain checkpoints”? Does this mean some schools won’t accept transcripts before the Common or supplements?

Anyways, thanks again!
