Possible mistake on my UC application as a transfer student

I submitted my UC application as a transfer student from community college and I just realized I possibly made a mistake on my grades. No, I did not actually lie about my grades. While I was entering my grades, I put a plus sign (+) on a few of my classes. Yes, all of them are the correct letter grades, the problem is that I just realized that my transcript does not show any plus or minus signs. Do you guys think this is going to be a big deal when it comes to evaluation after I send in my transcripts? Or would they overlook the (+) signs I entered when they see that my college does not use plus or minus signs? I have emailed the uc application department to ask about this but I would like to hear if anyone else has gone through this or what everyone else thinks. Thanks

P.S. I have sent an email to the UC application website for help, I haven’t emailed the individual colleges themselves yet.

the + sign is a big deal, it adds .3 to the gpa of a solid letter grade. (B is a 3.0 B+ is a 3.3). My advice is to email them as quickly as possible and try to figure out a solution. I’ve known people in the past who didn’t get into a UC because they mistyped a class or grade. The application reviewers take that kind of stuff very seriously, which is why you had several warnings throughout your application that would pop up telling you to make sure the information was correct, especially your grades. Best of luck though, you shouldn’t stress too hard because there’s nothing you can really do but await a reply.

you have to change the Grade… as @dannyn94 pointed out adding + and - you are actually changing the GPA… however the UC’s will not read your application until after January 15th, and I believe there is an option to correct part of the application

It will open in January to add grades for current semester and new schedule but I don’t know if it allows you to fix old grades.

Thanks guys
I checked and it says that you cannot change old grades, but I can attach a note in January explaining the situation… I hope it doesn’t affect my chances of admission after explaining the situation. Do you guys think it would? I have already started my attempt to fix it as soon as possible by emailing the uc application service and one of the UCs. I haven’t found the admissions office email for the other UCs.

Also, it would show that it wasn’t my intention to falsify grades on the application since I entered the correct GPA, right? :(

Where were you able to enter your GPA? I do not remember that option.

^same, I only had the option to enter classes

There is no place to entire your GPA. It self-calculates after you add your grades

Thats what I thought, is there a place to see it?

Wait so during the update you can’t change old grades from other semesters??? Sorry this is confusing.

There is a place to mail changes. You have to look on the website. Not sure why you added a bunch of + signs. To be honest, that would be a red flag for me at admissions. Weren’t you working off of a transcript or web page that listed grades? That is what they suggest. Anyway, you need to mail in the changes now so you look like you weren’t trying to pull a fast one. Sorry to be blunt, but that is kind of how it looks.

@dajo23‌ Were you able to fix your old grades? I’m going through something similar. A couple courses I repeated at a different cc didn’t line out my old grades so I had to do AR. I’m not sure how to change that now but I’ve already emailed the UC help desk to see what they say.

@lindyk8‌ thanks you’re the best.

I made the same mistake and I was wondering how it went for you.
