Possible Recission from Stanford

@websensation I changed back the grades with seconds. I emailed my admissions officer explaining the situation.
Thank you for the advice.

@indigosweater Hope everything works out for you. I think it was good that you emailed the admissions officer to explain. Let us know what transpires.

MotherofDragons , you were harsh in your opinion of the confessed mistake maker. Imagine being a parent of perfect kids. Okay, never mind, it’s not possible. Anyways, it sounds like you might be the Mother of this teenager. Being disappointed in a child is the sole right of the parent, not our right.

@Screennamekiddo well said.

Have you heard anything back from them? Would be interested to know the outcome - both as a preventative warning to others and as a future resource to those curious cats that find themselves toying with such things after being admitted to such enviable schools.

I think it was most foolish, but you sound genuinely remorseful and I sense no malicious intent from either your description of the events nor your tone in responding to the posters above. I really hope this doesn’t destroy years of hard work for you, but either way, it will be an unforgettable lesson in the importance of integrity (whether or not people are watching) for the ages.

@Senior2016M I am going meet with the Dean of Admissions, Richard Shaw, tomorrow afternoon. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Good luck. Throw yourself on the mercy of the court. It was impulsive and you regret it. Hopefully the punishment will fit the crime and you won’t find yourself in a Les Mis situation. I hope you get to matriculate. I too made stupid mistakes in my life and I had a guardian angel looking out for me. I will loan you her tomorrow afternoon.

Not that it matters but I think you meant “rescission.”

I wonder about this thread. If it is all true, the OP has shown bad judgment by telling us about the meeting tomorrow with the Dean of Admissions. (I would be very surprised if any dean of admissions–especially Rick Shaw–would meet with any candidate. At the very least, Rick would farm it out.) I assume the admissions office monitors this site.

Most likely some kid having a fun time with people (like me) who have too much time on their hands.

I sincerely wish you luck.

@indigosweater what happened? How was Dean Shaw?

@bwaygirl1 he was tall

Thank you for the informative update.

I expect my kids not to be criminals. Mission accomplished.

I’m super disappointed in this kid; every opportunity, no moral compass. What a bummer for our society.
