Possible to get a 26 to a 30+ score?

I took my ACT this February 8th, and got a 26C. For this one I did absolutely no studying what so ever, so that may be the reason of my mediocre score. I am aiming for a 31-33. With rigorous studying would that be possible?

Yes, it is. My son improved his score from 28 to 32. Practice, practice, practice. Books recommended: Real ACT Princeton’s and Barrons.

The first question is why would you even take a test without studying at all? Isn’t it simply a waste of time and money? You should do some practice tests to see your current standing and improve the part you are weak. Then take the real test. Even a genius should take at least a practice test to verify he is at the expected level before taking the test.

my student went from 30 to 33 with no studying before ACT number one and single section studying before ACT number two. you can do it!

Yes. I as a sophomore went from a 26 in September 2013 to a 30 in December 2013.

Yep. As a sophomore I got a 25 and ended up getting a 30 a year after I took my first one and ended up getting accepted to my dream school as a present-day senior.

The key is to practice. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on tutors. Buy a test book with lots of practice tests in them (Kaplan’s is the one I used). Have your parents administer them with the exact times and everything and go over the answers once you’re finished. Do this once every couple of weeks until you think you’re ready for the real ACT. Good luck!!

Yes, I took my 1st as a sophomore without knowing anything about the ACT and made a 25. I took it a second time without studying yet again and made a 29. I also took the Feb 8th test. I did study for this one by going to a prep class hosted by my school and taking a few practice test. My score from Feb 8th is a 33!
