Possible to get Likely letter and then rejected?

I got a likely letter, but has there been anyone that got a likely that got rejected come decision date? Given that I maintan good grades etc, likely is a pretty much in? That would be amazingly horrible.

From what I’ve read, likely letter people are only rejected under the same circumstances that a normal offer of admission would be rescinded -ie, terrible grades, suspension, crime, etc.

on the likely letter, it says basically you are guaranteed if you maintain the standards and character of which you have been accepted on. So, basically keep up the grades and don’t do anything illegal and get caught :p.

^what constitutes “terrible grades”? with senioritus in full groove, some A’s might drop to C’s. terrible grades indeed? Or do you mean D-F range of grades?

OP, the standards may differ among schools. Which school sent the likely letter?

I’m led to believe that only circumstances in which a likely letter would lead to a rejection are the same as those where an acceptance would rescinded. Which varies from university to university, that being said if you got a likely letter from Harvard (which I assume due to this post being on the Harvard forum) you should be able to coast through the rest of the year and maintain good grades.

OP, you say in this thread that you received a likely letter, thus contradicting your statement two days ago in another thread, “i only got a call from an admissions officer; not a likely letter.” (“Admitted! It feels unreal,” post #64, dated 3/9/10)

^ Lol, Browniebaker CC-hero

Yeah, Browniebaker, well spotted. -_- Any response, youwillsee1?

I imagine he wanted to add to the credibility of his original thread by making this one. I feel tempted to make the perfect ■■■■■ LL thread to show how it SHOULD be done.

Youwillsee, ur ■■■■■■■■ and this is getting pathetic. from admissions call for normal stats to likely letter and “fear of rejection”, plz… do better nxt time

Have you all thought about the possibility that since everyone keeps referring to it as a “likely letter”, he/she just felt it would be more convenient to call it that (which should be the same thing) instead of having to explain? I’d assume there are people that would inquire further if the OP said “likely call”.

While I happen to think youwillsee1 is being truthful, I’m well aware that he could be a ■■■■■. This piece of “evidence” just feels a bit trivial and semantic. The points that people are raising in the other thread are slightly more convincing.
