I Just took my first real SAT ( May 7 SAT )... feeling like I got a 1850-2000

I'm naturally a good writer, have a good base in math, and am already decent at CR..

This summer I plan to read through/practice/and understand:

Princeton SAT book with 11 Practice Tests

Blue Book

Barron's for math and vocab

SAT question of the day

Now, I know the SAT is DESIGNED to make you figure abstract and really weird tricks out, but if I'm already naturally pretty smart and I literally go through all those books, is a 2200+ possible?

I really need that score because I want to get into UT austin with a REALLY sh**ty GPA

all responses are greatly appreciated

Its definitely possible. All you really need is to pay attention in class and go thoroughly through the blue book.

last summer i started studying. the first few practice tests i took i scored about 600 in writing, 600 in math, and 600 in reading. Now, i score 750-800’s on writing practice tests, 620-700’s on math, and 650-730’s on reading.

add up the higher end of my scores and that’s about a 2200.

so, yes, it’s def. possible. but i dont know how much of the improvement is a result of studying.

i mean, i took algebra2/trig this year- so that probally helped in the math section. and i probllly just became a faster and better reader after a year of books and newspapers.

writing, ill admit is b/c of studying, but ull be suprised how much ull improve from simply getting older.

btw, i highly recomend:

tutor ted’s sat solutions manual w/ collegeboard book

o, i forgot , there’s also another option : a private tutor.

if u have the money, a private tutor will get u to OWN the math and writing seciton.

yeah it’s definitely possible although in my honest opinion it’s very unlikely. most people that end up with 2300+ started off in the 2000’s. personally i started with a 2020 and ended up with a 2290 in march

@businessisbiznez
that’s not true
coming from some people I know
ppl who had 1400~1500 could go up to 2000~2100
it’s all just a matter of hard work and dedication

(wow that sounded cheesy)

I went from a 1600 on a Barron’s test to a 2300 on a real QAS.

Mainly, preparing for the Mathematics comes from schoolwork. Work hard in school, and you’ll get 750+ on the math for sure (assuming you’ve taken a relatively in-depth Trigonometry/Algebra II course).

Reading Comprehension comes from understanding what you read. The more you read, the more you understand. Try to read things that are interesting to you (I personally prefer the New Yorker). I would recommend longform (google it) to find articles or essays to read.

a good private tutor will put your score on steroids
