Possible to prepare for Math 2 in 2 weeks only ??

So hi all .

I'm taking SAT Math 2 in November 17th (( yes , 17th )) , and I was wondering if it is possible to prepare for it in only 2 weeks and get a score of 700+ .

I will be taking SAT 1 in Oct 1st , and then Math 2 , Chem , and Physics in Nov . So I want to put kore effort on Physics and Chem and don't want to give Math 2 alot of time since Iam an A+ student in Math .

I'll be using Barron's Math 2 BTW .

Any opinion will be appreciated . Thank you very much (:

“… possible to prepare for it in only 2 weeks and get a score of 700+”

Curve for math 2 is very nice so it is not that difficult to get 700+.

Using Barron’s might not be a good idea if you have only two weeks to prepare. (It contains “many” unnecessary things.) Use Barron’s if you have very strong pre-calculus background.

Thank you very much for your answer .

Well actually yes I do have a strong Pre-Calculus knowledge , and iam taking Calculus this year .

What book do you suggest should I use other than Barron’s ??

I started with PR then Barrons later.

Do many practice problems and concentrate on correcting your miskates.

Good chance of getting 800 if you get about 40 (out of 50) from Barrons.

Good luck to you.

I’m wondering just lie you about he book i should use because i have the same time-line as you but can’t find the books i need where i live!(eventhough i don’t get how you managed to postpone your date)!

which book should i use for intensive review(about functions especially)??

Definitely possible. I prepared the night before and got an 800 haha. Although this was after a year of Calculus.

I took SAT math 2 before I finished Cal I. (800)

You should be able to get good score with intense prep (and strong strong background.)

Good luck to you.

Thank you very much for you help guys .

Ghastn : From what I heared Barron’s really over prepares you and many people told me it’s the best .

I didn’t postpone my test date , college Board did . You see , in my country we have a holiday - like Christmas - in the beggining of November , which is when the the test is supposed to be held . So the College Board people made the test date in November 17th because of this holiday in Certain Countries , and my country is one of them .

I just have one more question guys (( sorry if iam causing any inconvenience )) . Do you recommend any specific Graphic calculator to use for the Math 2 test ?? Note that I NEVER used any graphing calculator in my life but I heared it will be useful for this test .

I had TI 84 (I think).

I think it is a good thing that you learned math without calcultors.

Thank you very much 20more for all your help .

Yeah I agree , That is very useful . I use a scientific calculator though . It’s just that in where I come from no one uses a graphing calculator .

BTW I just took the diagnostic test that I found in Barron’s and got 640 , i’m assuming this is a 700 or so in the real thing . With some practice I hope i’ll get an 800 (( I was aiming for 700 but when I took the diagnostic test I thought I should raise the bar :stuck_out_tongue: ))

Thnx again (:

The best advice i can give for doing well is to carefully read each question and make sure you are answering WHAT the question is asking. Misreading a few questions on the Math II is what cost me an 800 (got 780). The test loves to trick you

wow; i have extra time to prepare(19th november) so i’ll ace that Math II(now i’ll have to order the barron’s book) but physics is now my biggest ordeal(half of the material is completely unknown) and all i have to do for teh math is just translate my knowledge from french to english:thanks anyway!!

@Ghastn WAIT , The November exam was postponed in CERTAIN countries . France is NOT one of these countries (( unless you are a muslim living in France )) .
