SAT II - Math 2?

Hello everyone

well im debating if i should take math 1 or math 2
i'm currently in pre-calc honors so i feel like math 2 would be more appropiate?

what books do you recommend for math 2? why?

thanks :)

math 2, easier curve, accepted by more selective universities

book - barron’s

totally agreed with thrill3rnit3 esp. abuot using barron’s

thanks, i thought so too, that math1 was too easy& colleges would prefer math2

thank you!! :D

I’m in Pre-Cal right now; if I used Barron’s before the test in May (roughly a month of prep) would I do okay (700+?)?

Also, is the consensus around here in favor of Barron’s for SAT Math 2?

If you are good at math, you would probably get an 800. (Over 10% of test-takers get 800.)

I would consider myself decent at it, and I don’t know that my school’s math program is as strong as other schools.

Would it be a bad idea to wait until October to take Math2? I would probably be preparing for Calculus over the summer before the class.

Math II
It’s really not that hard. The curve is pretty generous.
I used barrons and princeton review. They’re both pretty good.

does the college you’re applying to look at how many times you take it? XP the colleges i applied to allow score choice, so you can take it as many times as you like. i would take it early so at least i know i’ve taken it before and don’t get stressed out too much. plus i’d know how much i have to improve. although after you prep for calc over summer, you’ll probably get an 800 anyway. :D

Thanks for the replies!

Umm, I’m not entirely sure. I plan on mostly applying to UCs, but I’m not sure of their policy on taking SAT II’s multiple times. I totally forgot that you could take them more than once; I’ll probably take it in May and October.
