Possible to take Regents outside the school environment

My son has studied Algebra I through an online course but his school will not allow him to take the Regents. Is there any other way to take the exam either in June or in August?

Have you looked into how homeschoolers take the Regents test?

But briefly googling, it seems as though the HS gets to decide who outside the normal students in their college can take Regents at their school…also keep in mind the school wants your child to take the class at their school and not bypass.

I would, in the future, work with them on online classes…they may not feel it rigorous enough and then if your child fails, it will be a statistic against their school.

Hello, I live in NYS.

Go to nysed’s website and click on the regional test taking centers on the navigation bar on the left. There are official centers where every regents exam is given (mostly for kids who want to take the August, but also for June).

Get on it and! The common core exam is Thursday!
