I'm applying as a transfer student to NYU. The application is due tomorrow (April 1st) but I had submitted it on the 5th of March. I got the email from NYU and unfortunately did not check to make sure everything was received. Just a few days ago I found out that my school has possibly (most likely) not sent out my transcript. I have called the man in charge of transcripts twice and am going to his office tomorrow. If my transcript has not been sent out (my request was submitted February 8th, by the way) I will they send it overnight with a note explaining the situation. Could my chances at NYU be hurt if the transcript has not been sent?

I'm not sure if it's different for transfer students (I'm not sure why it would be), but for freshmen, the schools tend to be more lenient on deadlines for things that are out of your control. As long as your app is there and your transcript is there in a timely matter, I think you'll be fine.

I read on the NYU boards that thats okay because it is out of your control just to have them sent in AS SOON as possible.

It will only hurt your application if it is sent extremely late when all spots are taken.
