Throughout high school, I’ve maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. However, this senior semester I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get hit with a fat B in my literature class, given that my teacher is a super hard grader and english wasn’t my strong suit in the first place. How much will this actually affect my Early Decision and Regular Decisions for Ivy-caliber schools? Wil they take into account first quarter grades for early decision?
Ivy league athletic conference schools look at more than GPA.
Does your school even report quarter GPAs? I ask because my daughter’s HS was on quarters for students, but semesters for the official transcript and didn’t report first semester grades to colleges until the end of January. I would suspect that your ED schools wont even see that grade.
They will look at senior year grades but it sounds like you are doing very well. If you don’t get into a particular college it won’t be because of ONE B for one semester in one class senior year.
It’s not on the official transcript, but I heard ED schools can still request the “unofficial” first quarter grades.
Your guidance counselor can tell you exactly what information is provided to colleges asking for first quarter/first semester grades - but my above comment still stands.
honestly that wont hurt you at all. they dont look at senior year grades usually and if they do one B isnt gonna make a difference, youre still smart
