ok so I might have possibly scored low on my second nutrition exam. Before you say anything I know it was my fault, since the beginning of this semester (my first) Ive been getting pretty good exam grades. My first exam grade for nutrition was an 87. I thought it was pretty easy but I eventually made some friends and my studying habits went downhill. I ended up cramming for two days this exam and although I was confident going into taking it I realized how hard it was in the actual process.

I now know to take my study habits more seriously, and will learn from my past mistakes.

But my problem is...will this nutrition class bring me down? Lets say I do get a bad grade, is it over for me? Im pretty sure lots of people fail exams and end up doing perfectly fine at the end. I know Im probably overthinking it but im just looking for some advice or clarification. Is it over? Can I still get an A?

And I probably know how childish and foolish this question might sound to some of you so try and limit the sarcasm

In all honesty, I really wouldn’t worry about it. Last year, I went into two of my tests not really studying and I got a 64% on one and a 78% on the other. I ended up getting an A- on both of the tests. You CANT go into it now saying you can no longer get an A. You have to have strong standards that you need the A and ask your self, what steps do I need to take that if I did, the A is inevitable. Here’s what I’d do:

See where you messed up on the last test and analyze what you can change in your strategy for next time. Also go over your past test to see what kind of questions your professor asks and if he/she tries to trick you.

I didn’t do this step but I think it’s a good one if you’re up for it. Sit in the front row from now on in the class and be super involved. Also go see the professor and let him know how much the A means to you and ask what it would take to get an A in the class. Lastly, do everything you can to show him you care and keep asking about that A. I think this is a big step in improving your grade (both bc professors perception changes and bc you get good advice)
