My accepted (Engineering) DS is suffering from a bad case of senioritis. Realistically, how closely does Clemson look at senior grades? For instance, assuming he was accepted with a 3.3GPA (and strong test scores), if his GPA stays on that level (or slightly lower) are we ok? I know all schools say senior grades are important, but just how important to Clemson?

As long as he doesn’t completely tank and get C’s/D’s I think he will be ok - definitely try and keep the same the grades if you can. Remind him to keep going strong with school - although he is already accepted to college, it’s a good ideas to keep up strong study habits since you’ll definitely need them at Clemson!

No, it’s not like that. It’s just that his grades for the first 2 quarters of senior year were 4.0…much higher than usual, which was a pleasant surprise. But he has lost momentum a bit this 3rd quarter, and will likely be much lower. He may end the senior year at the same 3.3GPA as he had coming into the year, but it will be rocky - two very strong quarters and two not so strong.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I would be shocked if Clemson even considered revoking his acceptance (highly unlikely)
