Post here if you are going to be commended or a semifinalist. Give your score.

Good job to everyone who will be commended or semi-finalist. Sorry to those who missed either one of those by 1 or 2 points. That must really suck a lot.

225 (80 R, 67 M, 78 W)
Semifinalist
Colorado

Congratulations to everyone!

220 (99%) 70 R, 74 M, 76 W
NJ - Commended

does not having the asterisk (*) next to your selection index automatically mean commended or only potentially?

238 (80CR, 80M, 78W) up from 196 last year (56CR, 69M, and 71W)

MD Semifinalist! Go Terrapins!
Good job guys!

does anybody have an estimate of what percent of all semi-finalists are on CC?

(*) means you're not qualified

An asterisk does not indicate whether you qualify for semifinalist or not. It merely states whether you are ELIGIBLE for NMS. Some factors of getting an asterisk by your score may be: you did not take the PSAT as a junior, you are not graduating in 2007, or you are not an American citizen or pending American citizen.

i didn't know that. I'm glad that I don't have one. So it doesn't mean that if you got a low score, that you can not qualify?

240 from TN

Well you cannot qualify if you don't meet the scoring cutoff for your state, naturally. An asterisk merely denotes you are not eligible for NMS, not that you didn't make the NMS cutoff. It is possible to get a score that exceeds the cutoff but has an asterisk besides it; however, no matter how high you score on the PSAT, as long as there's an asterisk beside the SI, you are not eligible.

232 (80 W, 80 CR, 72 M), Semi-finalist, MD, 99th percentile

A kid at my school got a 220--just two points away from semifinalist. Stinks to live in Maryland, I guess.

227 (80W, 75CR, 72M), Semifinalist, NC, 99th percentile...goddammit the curve is so hard. I missed 2 CR's and 3 math's, and also 0 W.

220 (80 W, 71 CR, 69 M), Commended/Semifinalist??, CT

runrin, you are right on the cusp...it was 220 in 2001 and 2005. it was 219 in 2004 (for ct)

does anyone know what the cutoff is for commended?? i got the 96th percentile, but im not sure if that's good enough (from MO)

202+ for commended

232, ca.. semifinalist

sweet, i got a 203

commended just because of some stupid math mistakes
211 MN

using my 80 math score from sophmore year I got
219 so I'm really a semifinalist at heart
