Post I-day tour/vacation ideas appreciated

<p>Need some help/guidance with a couple suggestions on where to go for a few days of R&R after I-day while in the Annapolis region before driving back to Missouri......would like to get away from the mega-traffic/crowds associated with Balt/DC and Independence Day but would very much like a day or 2 at a family-friendly beach...or waterfront area.
Are there any "historically quaint" and shopper friendly Cheasapeake Bay towns that offer a B&B within an hour or so drive from the Academy that we should investigate ? We've done the Rehobeth/O.C. beach deal before, as well as Va. Beach with the kids.......hoping to find something a little more relaxing or"laid-back" .</p>

<p>You also might like to check out the B&Bs at some of the Eastern Shore towns off of the Chesepeake Bay within an easy drive of Annapolis.</p>

<p>Cross the Bay Bridge:
South - St Michaels, Oxford or Tilghman Island
North - Rock Hall or Chestertown</p>
