Post Night is tonight!
Good luck to all the Firsties!!!!!

How exciting!! Good luck class of 2009!!!

Would love to hear where everyone will be posted!

What is Post Night? Can someone elaborate.

It is the night when the Firsties (the class about to graduate) find out where they will be posted after graduation. They found out their branch of service a few months ago.

It is an exciting time!

Our cadet will be learning some German. :)

Wow! Congrats!! She must be ranked high! My cadet would love if that were an option one day...as he already knows some German (and some Germans!).

What are all the possiblities?

Great news shogun - I see some European travel in your future....:)

Our son is posting with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii. He had a summer assignment with that unit a couple summers ago and decided he wanted to go back.

Overall there are about 40 posting locations offered. Most are in the US but there are several overseas in Germany, Italy, Korea and even Gitmo, Cuba. Some have only 1-2 spots while others like FT. Hood, TX have over 100 positions. The number and location of available posts change yearly.

Well I've heard from a parent of a former cadet that some areas are better options if your looking at career than others. Some areas are just better in general. His son is currently stationed in Korea and says it's a real drag. His advice to me is to try and go to a European country.

Thoughts?

Congratulations to your son Aspen!

Well, no surprise, but I'm going to FT Rucker! :) I have aspirations for Ft. Campbell and the 101st, though. I hear it's an Aviator's paradise!

For each branch there are a limited number of slots at designated posts. And it's true that some posts are better than others. Ft. Lee, Virginia is where I'll be visiting.

Congratulations to all in 2009 - exciting times!
