Any intel on my other questions?

I’m not originally from the south, so my viewpoint is probably skewed. People probably think stereotypic things about Canada, but there’s no malice towards Canadian students.

Not familiar with the communications program…sorry.

If you join a sorority, you won’t have a problem at all making friends. They’re some of the most social people on campus.

I don’t like answering chances question because honestly the UGA admissions process seems random at times. Who knows what they want. All you can do is stay at or above the average and you’re probably fine numbers-wise.

I felt like UGA was very safe, though obviously don’t be stupid and use common sense when you’re around campus, especially at night. Walk around with a buddy if you can (I felt safe walking around by myself most of the time, but I stuck to populated areas). Text someone letting them know you’re on the way home and that you’ll text them when you get home so they know to call someone if you don’t respond. Listen to your instincts - if something feels funny, then don’t put yourself in further danger. Stick to well-lit areas. Don’t leave your belongings out for someone to steal - it’s temping to leave your stuff in a study room when you need to go out for a bathroom break. Honestly, I’m guilty of leaving my stuff there, but theft happens, so you probably shouldn’t do what I did haha. Most of the really bad things - rape, assault, etc - happen outside of campus. If you’re going out and partying, stay in a group and make sure you guys know what’s going on. Know your alcohol limit and don’t get to a point where you can’t control yourself well - that’s when trouble happens (plus, if you’re doing this as a freshman, you can get arrested). Most of the time, my friends and I liked to keep one of us as the DD - 1) so we would have a DD and 2) act as a babysitter and keep track of everyone just in case. Never ever ever ever get in a car with someone that has had a drink. There are taxis around downtown at night that are cheap and easy to get. Use them if you don’t have a DD!

Thank you!! That’s really helpful :)
