if i got a score of 1640 should i repeat the test. is that enough to be accepted in university of chicago taking in consideration that english is not my native language?

Well, it doesn't hurt to retake, especially if it was your first time.

Holy crap???

12/2008 SAT Reasoning Test
Critical Reading 800 99%
Math 800 99%
Writing 760 99%
Multiple Choice 80 (score range: 20-80)
Essay 8

Does that mean I didn't miss a single MC question?

^ you might have missed one CR. Congrats :)

Great job, Richarddd.Li. That's an amazing score.

As for me, I completely FAILED. On the October test, I only got 2160 (680 CR, 680 M, 800 W) and on this test I only got 2020. That's a terrible score! I only got 640 in CR, only 700 M, and only 680 in Writing! I went from 800 on the SAT and 80 on the PSAT to 680! And I only got an 8 on my essay =(

The dumbest part is I thought I did pretty well, and was expecting 2200+...I'm so dumb.

Great job to all the smart people with great scores!

690 Chem
740 Math I
700 Spanish w/o Listening

This sucks. I got a 5 on the AP Calc AB exam, but I don't have the math SAT to back it up. My Spanish I was at least expecting a 750 =/

Chem was a last-minute choice because I didn't feel ready enough for bio m. That one I'm not sweating over.

Freakchild, don't worry about it too much. Sometimes the SAT is just like that :\ did you take a hiatus in your studying after October?

Drmrbrian, from my experience, the Math SATII test is in a completely different ballpark compared to Calc AB. Especially at the high level of math you're at in school, it becomes difficult to retain all of the tricky precalc info you need for SAT2 - I don't think colleges will freak out over this little "discrepancy."

Superscored 2230.

Math 1: 650, I'm guessing around 67%, but I don't know yet. Ouch!!!
How horrible is this? Haha up from 580 before; I'm glad of that at least. My regular SAT from Oct is better: (m:720, c:750. w:800) but the Math Subject Test...not so much.
Should I do a ton of prep and retake this or take Math 2? I've already taken 2 other subject tests and received fair scores. I've heard that ACT Math (on which I did well) can be considered as an SAT Subject Test Math, but I'm not sure.
?

CR: 570
Math: 620
W: 690
(Essay :11 )
Total : 1880

I know that my score is nothing compared to other CC members but anyway I'm quite happy with it since I'm an international student and my score has improved by 130 :D

omg im sooo happy!
last time, my scores were
CR: 630.... 85%
M: 750...... 97%
W: 650..... 90%
total: 2030

DEC scores are:
CR: 680.... 93%
M: 730...... 96%
W: 770..... 99%
total: 2180!!!

SUPERSCORE: 2200!!

i'm actually SO happy.... merry christmas!

Congratulations Richarddd.Li, that's incredible :)

I agree, don't really worry about it freakchild12. Things like that happen. Just study and take it again and I'm sure you'll do fine :)

Congrats to everyone on their SAT scores, they look really great!

Thanks people for making me feel better.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

Dare to dream.

I just got my scores because of a mix up. I'm kind of discouraged after seeing other ppl's scores. O well, it looks like I'm going to have to prep for the january test :(

cr: 690
m: 770
w: 670

DCK7--looks like you have SKILLS in Math!

Depending on what you plan to major in, your scores could be perfectly acceptable. And with practice, you may be able to pull up your CR & W scores. Sure, it would be nice if they started with a 7 instead of a 6, but I wouldn't beat myself up too much.

All you guys out there who are saying to apply anywhere no matter what: have you ever thought of the fact that sometimes it may not be the best idea to go to the most competitive colleges no matter what? If it is a big reach, even if you get in, it might not be the best fit for you if most people's stats are better than yours. It might make you feel kind of stupid and depressed, especially if your GPA at the college ends up being somewhat lower than your peers' as well, don't you think? Wouldn't you want to go somewhere where you feel smart?

^^^^
If they're accepted, then they're smart enough. End of story.

^^ Yes, but...

If you got in by the skin of your teeth, and you're not REALLY a great writer but your mom and your admissions coach or someone edited your essays and now you're afraid to turn anything in without emailing it home to your mom to look at first....

It could be intimidating and you may be better off as a big fish in a slightly less intense pond.

^^
Yes, because that is the case for most college-bound seniors. Very good point.
