Post the transfer stats like GPA or something for people you know who were accepted. For UCs only. Just want to know.

Um. K lets see.

3.5, UCLA & USC, Honors & TAP- Sociology (deferred, is attending next year for poli sci)
3.7something, Berkely, rejected from UCLA, Honors & TAP- Business Econ
3.6, UCLA, Honors & TAP- Business Econ
3.6, UCLA & Berkely & San Diego, Honors & TAP- Psychology
3.6, UCLA, Honors & TAP- History
3.2, Berkeley (!), Honors & TAP, special circumstances- Don't remember the major
3.9, UCLA & Berkely, Honors & TAP- Poli Sci

There are more, those were just the ones I knew fairly well (through honors, common thread). Everyone was happy except for the person who didnt get into LA and "settled" for Berkeley. I think he's happy with it now though.

any non TAP ordinary people like myself. :)

Probably lots, its just that my main group of friends on campus (especially those not in my particular year) are through honors. Also, these friends are generally more apt to disclose their stats openly because we're all kind of in the same boat. Most of the non-honors people I know who have transferred have chosen Cal State schools.

Oh. One more.

3.8something, UCLA & Irvine, Honors (again)- Math

hmm...all honors...I guess that's because they were all non-engnr majors...for engnr majors honors is impossible...unless you want to spend 3-4 years in CC

My CC does not have any "honors" science classes, only General Ed classes. I am science major, so i didn't really wanna take honors GE.

yea seriously some of the colleges have really small amount of honors classes and then they are in subjects which students don't really need..like psychology or something...I hope adcoms know that.

2.8 ucsb, comm major- 2004

2.6 santa cruz politics
2.9 santa cruz history
3.2 davis history

2.8, 2.9,2.6 WOW....I didn't know UCs accepted that low...

UCSB's guaranteed transfer starts at 2.8 more most majors. Davis is 2.9 for most of the College of L&S majors.

Fei- the adcoms are definitely aware of the problem of too few science/math honors courses. At least, they should be, assuming your school's honors chair/director is proactive enough to make it known to them. This has been a big issue at our school and our director has made a point to let the UCs know that its really, really difficult to get science and math professors to teach honors here. All of the reps that Ive seen or spoken to have been understanding of this (this is one of the main reasons that UCs with honors contracts have a regular review process).

In fact, kids at my school who want to do more math/science honors work are generally sent to take them at IVC, cuz for as few of those classes as you guys have, we have even fewer.

As a sidenote, the 2.8 comm acceptance for SB makes me feel better. At least I know I have a real-life, honest-to-god safety.

/always assumed it would be, but I stress about things that I shouldn't, like not getting in anywhere.

fall 2004:

wow 4.0 EECS rejected by UCLA and 2.9 biochem accepted by UCLA?? what's going on?

the 2.9 rejected by UCSB, UCSC and UCR??

yea he got rejected by all the UC he applied, he was almost giving up at that time but suddently got admitted by ucla. he was almost like dancing in our computer lab and his friend just wrote his state on the board: xxx got admitted to ucla with 2.90 gpa!!!

the 4.0 guy didn't completed 3 semesters of physics and didn't take assembly language(which ucb doesn't required)

ooo that makes sense...haha kinda makes me feel better...

ha...so what's ur gpa and major?
