These shows run on pretty tight production schedules so it would be a logistical nightmare (as well as a budget buster) to try to film the show in Nashville. I used to live in southern California and one of the hospitals where I was on staff often had film crews doing location shoots for big budget movies like the X Files, Meet Joe Black, Heat, etc and 90% of the time was spent in hauling in trailers for the stars, caterers setting up, lighting crews, etc. All of this for perhaps less than 5 minutes of actual screen time in the theatre. They won’t be here. I also never saw any of the celebrities either!

Oh, in case this hasn’t been mentioned, but with Jay Cutler’s recent trade to the Bears, I think something like 60% of our grads in the NFL play for them so all the sports people were talking about it (including Skip Bayless, the ESPN analyst/Vandy Grad).

If you visit the Vanderbilt homepage, you’ll see the access to the Vanderbilt VUCast where the current topic is about Lyla Garrity, the tv character, tweeting about attending Vanderbilt and The Simpsons mention of the school as well. Fun!

One more to Chi-town. DJ Moore just got drafted by the bears.

today in the chicago sun times!!
cover of sports is “COMMODORE CONNECTION: It wasn’t exaclt planned this way, but the Bears are putting a lot of faith in Vanderbilt, a school known more for brains than brawn.” with a page size picture of the back of vandy fball players’ jersey and then has articles about it
whooooo go vandy (and BEARS)
