Post when you hear!

Don't feel bad, rhf.

I've actually never heard of someone appealing an admissions decision. How would one even go about doing that? But if it is possible, you should look into it.

a lot of colleges accept appeals, but don't like to advertise it because they dont want thousands more letters coming in from students for acceptance. appeals are rarely successful, but it's usually worth a shot if you can either add something amazing to your app, show the school that you've accomplished something since your previous application, or give a really good explanation for some slip in your grades or scores that may have caused your rejection. in most cases, though, it's not worth the effort and a lot of guidance counselors discourage students from putting that much effort into something that probably won't get them anywhere, anyway.

Could you please explain to me what 'admission decision appealing' is? I've never heard of those words.
rhf and anyone rejected/deferred,don't get depressed, please.;) Everything is still in front of you.:)

good luck rfh!I don't think you should have been rejected. Do you have any thoughts on what other colleges you may want to go ? This is going to be a tough admissions year.

Sorry, I mean rhf*

yea i have a bunch of other schools lined up.. i'm not too worried. thanks guys, though :)

appealing is when you basically argue your admission decision with the dean of admissions and/or other top people at the school.

Did anyone who succeeded in appealing get a financial aid? :)

haha, i doubt it. you're lucky if the school even accepts appeals. if they rejected you once, i doubt they want you badly enough to give you financial aid.

Accepted and well relieved. I had earlier called Admissions for an application decission and gotten rejected by phone (which must have being a mistake) but i waited to first recieve the paper reply and Voila!!! Accepted with full Funded. Congrats to all in my shoes and consolation to all that got rejected (i sort of tasted how it could be for less than 24hours).

Congratulations,laksidesvibe.Pitifully,I was not that lucky.;)
rhf, that's why I was astonished by that conception.;)
