Post Your 2013 PSAT Scores and State

EarlVanDorn Thanks for posting your 8th and 9th graders scores, I don’t feel so alone now!

Am I correct in understanding that current 8th and 9th graders will be taking the a new type of PSAT in 2015 and SAT in 2016? Is any information on these new tests available yet?

Arizona, 203

Worst I’ve felt since freshman year bullying.

Our junior son just received 223 in Maine… have no idea if its good enough for any consideration???

227, California

Dobsieguide, congrats on your son’s 223! He seems like a lock for semi-finalist with that score. 220’s are locks for all except for north-eastern states (not Maine) and California, and 225 is the holy grail that gets you semi-finalist regardless of your state. Only problem is if your son is in a boarding school.

Buggie111-I don’t think Commended gets you anything but a pat on the back, but coming from a family of overachievers, I don’t want to be the weak link in the chain!

228 in a boarding school in NJ, is the score high enough to be a semifinalist?

WOW. You should be putting your feet up and grinning ear to ear with 228!

Kansas 227, up from a 214 his sophomore year.

S did great in Math (780) and CR was good (690) but W brought his total down – too low for NY.

I tell him that while NM Finalist would have been ideal, most colleges will look at his SAT M and CR and those will be strong.

It is hard because in many (most?) other states he would have made it…but not here.

228 for my daughter in Oklahoma, 10/16 test date:
80 CR
68 M (missed 5)
80 W
99th percentile

She has yet to take the SAT (she will be taking it in March, 2014) and will most likely take the SAT a few more times before December, 2014. Do we use the 0085 NMSC code each time she takes the SAT? Does NMSC automatically take the highest score?

These threads are so helpful. My daughter is my oldest child, and I feel nervous about rules/deadlines I may be missing in this slog toward college. Thanks so much to anyone who is able to answer my questions, and I congratulate all the test-takers on their efforts.

Indiana 225

WI, 230, 99th percentile.

CR 73 / M 80 / W 77

233 Pennsylvania
75 CR 80 M 78 W
Those CR vocab questions always kill me. This is a bit off-topic, but does anyone who got all of the vocab right know of any good resources for vocab study for the actual SAT?

220 AZ 99th Percentile
CR 68/ M 80/ W 72
Seems good enough for national merit?

PA - 209… 76 Math, 70 Writing, 63 Critical Reading

It should be fine swerve. Only the really really competitive states have a cutoff above 220. I think Arizona was 214 last year, so assuming they’re around there again you should be fine.
