Tomorrow morning should be fun…D=

My daughter just gave me her list. She wants Connections for either Sierra Madre or Yosemite and Living Learning Program for College Math and Science in Muir (red bricks).

I think I’m going to go:

Sierra Madre
Yosemite
Tenaya

My son is going with:

Cerro Vista (Honors House)
Cerro Vista
North Mountain (engineering)

North Mountain (Engineering)
Sierra Madre
Cerro Vista

Yosemite!
Sierra Madre!
Cerro!

Housing application done! In this order:

1.) Connections in Sierra Madre

2.) Living Learning Program in Muir–College of Math and Science (red bricks/South Mountain)

3.) Connections in Yosemite

1) Muir
2) Sierra Madre
3) Fremont

I went with Yosemite, Sierra Madre, and Cerro Vista, in that order.

My choices were sierra madre, yosemite, fremont, in that order

I noticed that not many people went for North Mountain as their first choice. Did everyone just not find it sufficient? I’m curious, as I looked at them first-hand last weekend and they were quite nice.

Zungra, the rap against North Mountain, according to my son, is that its isolated from the mainstream campus life.

I have a good friend’s son who lives in North Mountain and we went to visit him. I liked the size and layout of them… My son did too. They get to watch lots of people walking by the windows and there is always someone out on the lawn doing something. They can also go to South Mountain for their community room. It sounds like a lot of people really value the social aspects of the other dorms. It can be tough to study with so many people around. Some people prefer to be a little more isolated. My son’s friend in is Mechanical Engineering and he needs to study a lot. he does get out and about too, but his priority is studying. he likes his room at North Mountain. My son would be happy there too if he doesn’t get his first choice of Cerro Vista.

About North Mounting: To be honest, as the mom of a girl, I was a bit worried about the security issue of the doors opening to the outdoors, rather than on to a hall. Am I misunderstanding the layout of North Mountain? I think I read that on the Housing part of the website…

I actually ended up putting in Cerro Vista, Sierra Madre, and Santa Lucia(engineering LLP).

This my afternoon daughter submitted her housing app for Sierra Madre, Yosemite and Tenaya in that order. And I provided the credit card. :-)
