Whatever! You fatso! You hater! AHAHAHAHA HAHAHA!

I'm not a hater I hate haters like YOU

I have the regular math/chem/GE class that almost every other freshman has. However, does anyone have an opinion about First Civilizations (Near Eastern Languages course)? It looked interesting, and yet I don't really know of anyone who has taken the course, or of any general feedback about
NR EAST classes.

Don't they change GE clusters every so often?

and i hate haters in general...

when are good times to fulfill GE courses? are GE courses usually easier than premed courses and/or courses for a major?

this fall i'm taking these classes for sure: math 3a, eng comp 3, LA cluster. should i add music 15: art of listening?

or should i save music 15 for later when i really need a so-called "fluff" course? i heard that it's quite simple. correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes, GEs are easy as long as you choose wisely.

As for fulfilling them - they're usually your last priority when choosing classes.

Add it and if it's too much drop a course by 4th week.

GEs are generally fluffy and easy. Have fun too (especially with Music History courses... ) :)

Could one fulfill these GE requirements in a CCC during the summer?

Well, you can try http://www.assist.org

I don't know the rules regarding transferring CCC courses. Anyone?

maybe i should take music 15: art of listening to take care of a GE but my tues and thurs will be tight...

Music 15 is still opened, but it will be a hectic schedule if i sign up for it. what do you think:

Music 15 is Tues and Thurs 11-12:50 @ SMB

Current schedule for Tues:
composition 9:30-10:45 @ HUMANTS
Math Dis 1-1:50 @ MS

Thurs:
composition 9:30-10:45 @ HUMANTS
GE CLST 1-2:50 @ PUB AFF

what's the food/drink policy for such classes? i wouldn't have time to eat lunch...

Food/drink depends on the class/instructor.

As for your schedule - you should just add it for now and drop it by 4th week if you can't handle it.

Mmm in regards to CCC...my counselor told me to get two transcripts - one for myself and one to bring to the admissions office. She told me that they were notorious for losing transcripts that were mailed in lol. Might want to call admissions to make sure though. =)

i hate music in general, do i have to take anything music/fine arts related to satisfy my GE?

Visual Performing Arts Requirement. You can bypass taking classes that are strictly music-related if you choose GEs carefully. Even then, if you do take a class related to music (e.g. music history), it's not as technical as you might think (i.e. not Schoenberg & Music Classes). An example of a class is SEASIAN 1 that satisfies 5/6 different GE requirements.

good, good, cuz i absolutely detest music, although i can draw and paint..sitting down with paint smeared all over your face to do a stupid water color is beyond human endurance.

Take an art class to satisfy the Visual & Performing Arts requirement, then.

This isn't high school. The common Visual and performing arts GEs taken don't involve a take home project and a paintbrush; they are more intellectual.

aww thats even worse...i really dont care much about the insights of the works of michaelangelo

Then take China Art.

Oh, my bad. Chinese.
