Core Explore - 101%/1 (This class is kind of like a mixture between English and History. The subject changes every six weeks. We learn about the Holocaust, Public Speaking, etc.)

Social Studies - 105%/1

Concert Band - 100%/1 (a few other people have the same grade. Our grades are mainly based on practice sheets and participation. Tests once per marking period).

Science - 94%/5

Language Arts - 92%/3 (The teacher isn't good at all. He still makes us read abridged versions of books and we're in the 8th grade, such as The Diary of Anne Frank). I feel like he doesn't really even know what he's teaching.

Algebra I - 94%/2 (Most students at the local high school elect to take Algebra I as a freshman or sophomore. For those taking Algebra I as a sophomore, they took Pre - Algebra as a freshman).

I'm not going to post my grades because they are horrible for cc. I just want to tell Jonathan1 that if he is truely in 8th grade, I think you should get off this site and enjoy your life right now. Don't worry about colleges so much that you are on this site. I'm a junior and I am starting to think it's too early for me to be on here.

karen, Jonathan is in 8th grade and he's been here for over a year so I think we should let it be his choice to be here or not. I personally find it very condescending when upperclassmen make it a point to try to save us from this site because it implies that I'm not intelligent or aware enough to know what's best for myself. I know there are lots of overachievers here and it can get to your head, but thats only if you let it. I think the juniors and seniors here need to stop trying to save people and just give the benefit of the doubt (i'm a sophomore by the way).

1st term? Is that like 1st quarter?Probably a stupid question, but just making sure.

Oh and do all of you get letter grades on your report cards? We do them out of 100 except electives don't count in your average and you get letter grades for those (like Gym)

my school is dumb so the only way we know our term/semester grades is by looking them up on the teacher's online gradebook. we're too cheap to print them out and mail them. consequently, we get both number and letter grades, although the latter goes on the transcript.

Yeah, right now I'm mainly here for the Prep School Admissions Forum and I was applying to a few boarding schools but I decided to just apply to a local prep school. I do go on other forums of course, like this one, because some of the threads are interesting and I post in some of them. It's my choice to be on this site, not your's.
