Haha no, not kidding. My schedule isn’t very difficult at all i don’t think. The hard part will be the Self-Study APs but I really enjoy doing that so it should be fun. Zero busy work, zero stress (except for May), just learning :). Your schedule does not sound weak…the Sci Research class sounds awesome

BUTtttttt, there is around a 88% chance this schedule will not happen. My stupid school schedules everything in second and fifth period --; and French is only 5th so I’ll probably end up dropping Stats and taking AP Psych (even though I took the AP exam this year -__-) or Newspaper which is a prep course.

Ego is beautiful.

AP English Language
Spanish IV Honors
AP Chemistry
Pre-Calculus Honors
AP Human Geography
Psychology I Honors/Psychology II Honors
Sociology CP/Darkroom Photography II

75% chance that at least two or three of these classes won’t work out. >.<

Mine is all worked out. Junior:

…Weak.

Don’t. The problem is that most high-school teachers just overwhelm their students with work, in the hopes that they’ll have to develop good habits, and that they’ll utilize those habits in college. Often, it’s impossible to take much more than a full load because there aren’t enough hours in the day to do busywork, notwithstanding a student’s intelligence.

I’m not aware of any prohibition against a minor working full time, at least, not in my state. When I drew out my schedule, and you’ll have to forgive my random thoughts at whatever small hour of the night I posted yesterday, it looks like the problem isn’t in so much that there isn’t time for the huge commitment of a full- or near-full-time job, it’s that I wouldn’t really be able to do all of the other stuff I want. So, I’m probably going to just look for an after school part-time job in addition to hourly employment (college tutor) before my classes.

Really I’d take any job I can get. I live in a small-ish town, so it’s hard to find much. I’ll talk it over with my college’s career center to see what’s possible…

And I’m not just looking for a job for my own vanity or for college applications… from a family with an EFC of $0, there’s not much money to go around. It’s looking like I’m going to need my own car in the next year, and I’m not sure how that’s going to happen.

Sophomoooore:
- AP US History (Only AP usually offered to 10th graders)
- AP Human Geography (Had to fight to get this one)
- French III H
- English II H
- Trig H
- Java H
- Chemistry H
- Orchestra

^ Java Honors? wow you must have a rich school

my crappy high school has java classes.

yeah but honors? that means there must be regular one too or something… my school has it too but it doesn’t have the money to have it differentiated into regular plus advanced standing.

Going on to senior year:

AP Bio
AP English 4
AP Calc
Pre-AP Spanish 5 (Pre-AP is Honors at my school)
Community College Government
Community College Introduction To Business
Global Business (Elective)

I just skimmed this thread, since I am too old to compete. I am surprised though that I am not seeing more mixed college/HS schedules. Last year my son took an interesting and challenging schedule his senior HS year that included

AP English
Spanish III
Speech & Debate
—bus—
Physical Chemistry
Ordinary diff Eq’s
Vector Analysis

AP/IB courses are excellent, but if you run out of choices look into dual-credit.

Reason why I’m taking Physics at my local CC.

For my senior year:

AP European History (The only AP course my Canadian high school offers)
English Literature 12
Christian Education 12
Spanish 12
Physics 12
Guitar Studies 12
Film and Television 12
Choral Studies 12

By the end of this year I’ll have completed English 12 and I’ll be taking Geography 12 over the summer.

My schedule looks way easy, no? I’m kind of worried about that…

School doesn’t have APs, and the honors classes are equivalent to APs. 0-o
