^That looks like my schedule for senior year minus Calc BC and Econ @ Princeton (which would be ****ing amazing since I’m interested in Economics, and why not take it at a prestigious school?), and AP Art History, but I will be taking Honors Great American Conflicts Seminar for sure senior year, Honors Comparative Religions, and probably another weird thing.

I don’t see the point of taking dual-credit classes. I’m already taking many college courses that will be transferrable credit at my highschool, as well as AP classes and online college courses. Going to an actual college to take classes would suck up all of my time and it frankly seems like a waste of time when compared to the other options I have.

senior

ap lit
ap calc bc
ap art hist
ap gov
ap chem

Algebra II/Trig Honors
Catholic Social Teaching and Christian Morality (Required. =/)

Thinking of self-studying for AP World History, AP European History, AP Chemistry, and AP English Lit…

My schedule got goofy because of a class conflict. Here’s where it stands now

Period 1: AP Biology
Period 2: AP Calculus BC
Period 3: AP US Government and Politics (possible Comp Gov self-study)
Period 4: Graphic Design
Period 5: Writing
Period 6: Journalism (possible editor-in-chief or news/features editor)

7th period is a free one, but I’ll use the period to get ahead of biology labs, Calc BC, and APHG self-study.

Oh boy, junior year.

English 11H
AP Statistics
AP Chemistry (shares title of hardest course in the school with…)
AP US History
Japanese 3
AP Music Theory

I’m not really interested in any of these besides Japanese, but I can’t really take any other courses that I’m interested in:

My school doesn’t offer AP Physics C until the 2011-2012 school year, so I have to self-study that (along with the topics that the AP exam doesn’t cover) for USPhO. The community college courses don’t work with my schedule (and they probably wouldn’t let me in anyway, since I haven’t taken an AP Calc exam yet).

I’ll be done with the Calc BC material by the end of the summer, and my school doesn’t offer multivariable, linear algebra, etc., so I have to self-study those as well. The only other option for those is the nearby community college, which isn’t challenging enough. The nearest universities are too far away for a reasonable commute time.

We do have a finite and discrete math class, but AP Stats is a prereq, so I can’t take it next year.

We don’t have any course in computer science or linguistics.

I need a VPA class for the UCs, so I have to take AP Music instead of AP Psych. (AP Music reportedly takes less work, and thus I am taking it in the most stressful school year instead of senior year.)

In addition, I’ll be taking WOOT (AIME/USAMO prep), possibly intermediate number theory, and possibly olympiad geometry on AoPS. (Maybe an intro computer science course as well.)

I can’t wait until we get to choose courses that actually interest us in college…
