Post your November 2010 SAT II scores!

Somebody comfort my 760 Chinese with Listening score…

Strange, the night before, I had a dream that I got that score. (Inception much?)

700 Spanish w/ Listening- Non native. Is this considered “good” or should I retake?

740 Math 2

This probably wouldn’t be a satisfying score for many of you, but I’m pretty damn pleased. =)

USH: 730 I wanted at least a 750+ :frowning:
Math II: 640 No studying at all. Retaking in December

640 Math II (epic fail)
710 US History

500 on Math 1
580 on Lit

No preparation, no studying, no practice. Is it possible to do redo in January and still submit with college apps??

Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

wow! i got in the practice test 740 the first time and the second 760. And i had to self study the whole book! But in the test i ran out of time -.-
got 640 !

740 math II :)

@jlewis24: I got 640 on Math II, too :frowning: I don’t understand how I did THAT bad.

Question for everyone
I got 630 on Lit and 640 on Math II
My SAT Reasoning score was 2200
I have a 95% average

Do you think that my chances of getting into an Ivy is completely BLOWN because of my disgustingly low subject test scores? Be brutally honest.

720 Spanish w/ Listening
I’ll probably retake it next year. I spaced out a little during the listening.

math I: 730
physics: 750

@RainbowSprinkles

No. Your chances are not completely BLOWN. They’ll appreciate, if nothing else, that you challenged yourself with Math II (rather than Math I) and Literature… though it’s true your scores are on the lower end of percentiles. If you feel utterly compelled to go at either the SAT I or the SAT IIs again, do so. But know that these scores will only take you through the door, so to speak–everything else you bring to the table is what distinguishes you from other applicants.

800 French w/ Listening

I was totally expecting something around 750 and I was really surprised when I saw that score… I knew I did better than 700 but I wasn’t sure since I’m not a native and some of the listening comp pictures were unclear.

And all of you folks saying you failed Literature for getting a 740ish, I pity you. Lol.

790 physics… damn you puddle question.

800 Maths II
800 Physics
770 French

Strangely enough, I’m happiest with French. I’d never done a practice test, I don’t do AP or university French, I haven’t done a massive exchange, and the exam style (which I found out DURING the exam -.-) is completely different to that in my country. My strengths are writing and speaking, but oh well xD Still happy!

@RainbowSparkles, your chances certainly are not blown. However, my impression of the significance of the SAT Subject Tests within the admission process is that SAT II scores reflect on the rigor of curriculum in the respective subjects - and thus, to a limited extent, on the overall quality thereof. This might cast a shadow on your, indubitably high, academic statistics - although to what extent I dare not estimate. Therefore, I say: if you can improve, go for it! Mathematics II, if not Literature, is generally considered “coachable”, so I’ll hold my fingers crossed for you with full knowledge that you can do it :)

760 Spanish w/ Listening

I have an interesting situation with Spanish. I went to an immersion school from K-4, but then my family moved, and I basically didn’t speak the language at all until I was getting ready to go into high school. Freshman year, I took a “college through the high school” class (which is considered the third-year Spanish at my school - no AP offered) and easily got As both semesters (this wasn’t common). Based off of this experience, when I decided to take this test, I probably didn’t study as much as I should have…and opened the practice book three days before to find out that, between my class and elementary school, I had never learned several verb forms. Yikes. I was getting 700-750 on the practice tests that I took and thought the actual test was much easier, so I’m happy with the 760 for the preparation that I did here.

That all being said, is it worth retaking with a little more studying/practice? Language seems like a strong part of my resume, so I want to make sure that I show it off. Any recommendations/insights? Oh, and I’m a sophomore now.

@ gbraing: If you are proficient in multiple foreign languages and want to emphasize that in your application, taking multiple subject tests or AP’s in the respective languages (and doing well on them!) will demonstrate to your colleges that you are actually as proficient as you claim to be, and also shows that you have a genuine interest in language. Personally, I speak five languages fluently, and scored an 800, 800, and 790 on the SAT II’s in French, Chinese with Listening, and Spanish, as well as 5’s on the AP English, Chinese, French, and Spanish tests (taking the AP in German this year). I feel like it really helps a lot, particularly if your prospective major has to do with languages. I’m a current senior, and I indicated on my applications (at least the ones that asked this question) that I wanted to be a linguistics and classics double major, so it helps that I’ve already had plenty of experience with languages.

Just my $0.02…

WOOHOOOO
770 Chinese with listening
i was SO SO SO happy because i’m not a native (i do speak at home, but never really that strong in reading/writing). i took practice tests and got like mid 500s and i studied so much reading comprehension two days before the test and it helped so much. now i’m not an embarrassment to my family :P
