Postcards!

The Admissions office just posted that the “Likely” cards were mailed out to about 25% of the students who will be accepted!!

It’s nice. Even includes a handwritten note of praise from the student’s regional admissions person. (I hope those are actually written by interns or something. It doesn’t seem like the best use of their time.)

It says they will be mailed out each week for the next few weeks.

@prodesse I am a current student and a part-time intern at the admissions office. They personal notes do not come from interns and are written by the deans themselves. Sometimes the notes include a reference to something written in the essay or another part of the application, which the interns don’t have access to. That’s just one of many things the admissions office likes to do to add a personal touch to things and to be there throughout the entire process. They also are extremely good about responding on comments on their blog posts and heck even used to be really active on college confidential.

@shawnspencer That’s remarkable!

my daughter loved her post card- such a nice touch from a wonderful school- so personal and made her feel the school really cared about her

If anyone in northern Virginia is still hoping for a postcard, there’s hope. My sons received theirs yesterday! Good luck out there to everyone who is hoping for an indication of good news to come.
