Posted in the Dental School section, but wondering if anyone here knows the answer...... (thanks)

Can a DS applicant deposit/hold multiple acceptances?

I’m helping a student who has just received his 3rd Dental School acceptance within a couple of weeks. I’m wondering if he’s allowed to hold multiple acceptances until Spring, like MD applicants are able to? And, would those deposits be refundable, like they are for MD applicants?

For MD applicants, holding multiple acceptances can mean merit scholarships being offered as an attempt to protect yield.

What are the rules with Dental Schools?

The AADSAS has traffic rules just like AMCAS does;

Does this mean candidates have 15 days to withdraw from the other programs to “block” the rescinding or is it literally just that they need to be given 15 days notice before an inevitable rescinding? Sounds to me like a decision should be made by applicants by the April 1st deadline.

Also wondering. Looks like applicants need to choose one school and decline the rest by April 1st?? Is that right?

<<<
Applicants holding positions at multiple institutions. Dental schools participating in AADSAS will report to AADSAS by April 1, the names and identification numbers of candidates who have paid a deposit and/or hold a position in their entering class. After April 5, AADSAS will report to each institution the names of candidates in their entering class who are holding acceptance(s) at additional institutions. Dental schools will have the option of rescinding an offer of admission to candidates who have paid deposits and are holding positions at multiple institutions

^^ This sounds ominous. This doesn’t sound as lenient as AMCAS.

If my first interpretation is correct: that students must be given a 15 day timeline to withdraw from other schools or lose their spot, then it’s in fact more lenient than AMCAS. MD students can’t hold multiple acceptances after the deadline at all.
